MSI Application Packager
Working with 5 other application packagers to
package software to best practices and company standards for deployment via
SMS2000/2003 to Vista and XP workstations.
Test functionality of the MSI packages for Vista
deployment. Working to company specified SLA’s
using a combination of Adminstudio, Orca and in-house written VB tools to create
and modify the MSI/MST, validate and conflict solve. This role covers software
discovery, application packaging including Vista
remediation and UAT. For the first 2 weeks of the contract I was involved in
the software discovery process for the application packaging, recommending any
changes to the existing company processes.

My role was to package applications into the MSI format using Macrovision Adminstudio
and make them available to users for automatic installation using SMS and Radia to NT and XP workstation. I also
managed software updates, patches, process improvement and fault resolution for
existing packages.

Senior
Support Technician assisting in running a team of 6 engineers supporting 2000+
XP and Citrix workstations and a multitude of different server builds.
Performed new
installs and fault diagnosis/resolution.
Worked on many projects and rollouts including the Year 2000 delivery of new
PC’s, applications and servers allowing a seamless move for the Norwich Union
PC environment in to the Year2000.

Level Agreements. Rolled out NT to 300+ PC’s. Role required
(extensive/frequent) out of hours work and allowed demonstration of
flexible/adaptable characteristics in the workplace.
